Central to our worship is the proclaiming of the Gospel through both sermon and song. When we gather together for worship, we collectively praise God by exalting his word in both music and message. Bible-centered preaching means culturally relevant, expository preaching, typically through books of the Bible. We believe this is the best way to learn the Word of God and to see how all of Scripture points to Jesus Christ. We glorify God through Bible-centered preaching.
At First Baptist, we reach up, out, and in. We reach up by praying to God and seeking His will in all things. We reach out by sharing the love of Jesus Christ in an intentionally missional way. We reach in by ministering to one another through loving fellowship, support, and family nurture. We seek to be an "Acts 1:8 Church" in all we do. We glorify God through Bible-centered reaching.
We have a passion for teaching the Bible in ongoing Bible study classes. The Bible is taught to newborns through senior adults. We believe no one is too young or too old to benefit from high quality Biblical teaching. We glorify God through Bible-centered teaching.
Through Bible-centered preaching, reaching, and teaching we fulfill our Lord's commission to "make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things" commanded to us (Matthew 28:19-20).
That's who we are.
That's why we're here.
To God be the glory!
